Jon Sandifer was quite simply a great teacher. I told him this the day that we graduated from his two year training course in 2008.
I was lucky enough to know Jon in the last few years of his life, where he had reached a culmination in his work and his teaching for this life time. He was confidently assured, deeply philosophical and incredibly good humoured, all qualities that you appreciate in a good teacher.
After I had qualified as an accredited consultant Jon would often ask me to accompany him on his own consultations as his assistant. This invariable meant that I had to mark up the floorpan for him, an essential, and sometimes tedious (!) part of the consultation process. It was my honour. To be in the company of such a great master was my privilege.
Jon’s life was cut short, as he passed away a relatively young man. Sometimes I still want to pick up the phone and ask him a question, especially when a consultation has thrown up something new that I may not have experienced before. In these times I recall his guidance that would inspire me when we were together and that continues to influence my work today. “Look outside, look inside, look everywhere, and you will find the answer. The answer is within, and it is always there.”
Jon, I miss you, and continue your work, as I hope you would be proud.
